|

I've been recording sound with my realtime for years without incident. However, recently, I took some proceedings, all seemed to be working as usual during the takedown. But when I went to listen back to the sound file, it sounded like everyone was talking under water after inhaling a few helium baloons. Somehow the recording got distorted and seemed to speed up. Everyone was loud enough to hear, just with distorted voices. So I don't think my microphone got loose or unplugged. When I went to test my sound file after that, all worked well again.
I was wondering if I could have some suggestions as to what possibly could have caused this, (maybe some settings were off) so that I know what to look for in the future. Maybe I accidentally changed a certain setting that day and didn't realize it. Is there anything on the Digital Cat audiosync settings that can cause this? |

If it was distorted in one listening, but then was okay when you listened to it again, then I would suspect just a glitch. _________________ Greta

| Well, the sound file is still distorted. What I meant by all is well is that when I started a new file and began to record sound later on, that sound recording was fine. But the one file that had the distorted sound is still distorted, even when I listen to it now. That's why I was wondering what type of setting on Digital Cat can make the sound not record properly. I must have accidentally changed it somehow. |

It could be a number of things. If it is just that one audio file, I would think that it is something like another electrical device near the microphone. _________________ Greta

You're right. I'm having the exact same problem. I even bought one of those high-priced mics from Stenograph. Then I turned around and bought one of those Turtle Beach external sound cards, which didn't work by the way. My sound is now much louder, but I've described it as zombies being in the background. Really, really annoying!!! This doesn't happen on every job, either. Support tried their best to help me but no such luck. Okay. I'm thinking my sound card is going out. I needed a new laptop, anyway, so I went and bought another laptop Friday. Guess what!!!!! My zombies are back. Could it have something to do with the new update? Everything was all good, great, and wonderful until I installed that new update a couple of months ago. HELP!!!! I'm sorry you're also having this problem but now at least I know I'm not alone. I was thinking it was something I was doing wrong.
Thanks so much for the input!
