After in-house testing of the new
Windows Vista operating system, Stenovations has discovered the
following work-around for any digitalCAT user encountering problems.
Please note that Stenovations' support staff have not been trained in
the use of Windows Vista. If you have difficulty following this
walkthrough or if this solution does not work for you, please let them
know, but understand that they will likely not be able to offer further
assistance.

Please note that after each step, your screen should appear similar to the image listed below that step.
Instructions
1. First, open “Computer” from the
“Start” menu, which should give you the following screen:

2. Double click Local Disk (C:)

3. Double click Program Files

4. Double click the “Digital CAT” folder. You will then
need to find the “Transcript Editor” in this folder, and
right click on it. Choose “properties”.

5. Click the tab highlighted below, “Compatibility”.

6. Check the box for “Run this program in compatibility mode
for:” and choose “Windows XP (Service Pack 2), and check
the box labeled “Run as an administrator”. Your screen
should match the image below.

7. You can now click “OK”. This procedure must also be
followed for DictMain and AudioDepo (If you use AudioDepo, otherwise it
can be left alone).
