I can’t find the Driver CD that came with my adapter. There’s a Yellow Triangle with an exclamation point in the device manager beside my USB-Serial adapter. Windows can’t find a driver for my adapter. What do I do?
Your computer is likely not configured to download drivers automatically from Windows Update. You can turn this feature on so that your computer will be able to download and install the correct drivers automatically. For more information on how to do this, please go to the Microsoft website here:Â http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Automatically-get-recommended-drivers-and-updates-for-your-hardware
Can I use Multiple USB-Serial Adapters? For instance, to be able to send a judge or attorney a realtime feed?
No, you will not be able to use multiple USB to Serial adapters. Doing so may result in Blue Screens on your computer. If you need to use multiple USB-Serial Adapters, Stenovations recommends the Socket Mobile serial I/O PC card available from http://www.socketserial.com/.
Does Digital CAT Work with Windows Vista/Windows 7?
Yes, but you will need to disable User Account Control first.
I have a Stenograph® Mira, Cybra, or Protege writer. Is there anything else I’ll need in order to do realtime?
Yes, you will need a realtime cable from Stenograph®, with a purple plug. You will need to request this cable from Stenograph® when you purchase your writer.
You can find this cable here:Â http://stenograph.com/Category.aspx?ID=170001&subid=980001&childid=1100001

I have an emergency on a weekend! Can I get assistance?
We provide emergency support for Digital CAT purchase customers with an active support contract and rental customers in good standing. We do not provide emergency support for Scopists, Students, or Lightspeed owners.
What are your hours of support? Are there any limitations?
Support is available every weekday from 8AM to 8PM Eastern time, Monday through Friday for students and scopists. There is 24 hour support available for reporters in good standing.
Emergency 24 hour/weekend support is provided for Digital CAT purchase customers with a support contract or rental customers in good standing only.
My Digital CAT software says it needs an “Activation Code”? I’m a customer in good standing. What is wrong
Digital CAT requires periodic Activation Codes to continue working. It helps us make sure you’re running the latest version of the software, and it helps minimize unauthorized use of our software. Rental customers are given 30-90 days. Purchase customers, Scopists, and Students are given 180 days. Just go to our Activation Page to request a new code. It’ll be emailed back to you promptly.
I need to make a payment. How do I make a payment?
You can make a payment in our Online Store 24 hours a day. You can also call us to make a payment. Please allow up to 48 hours for processing your payment.
How do I save a PDF? I’m getting an error message that says “PDF Support is not installed”.
If you’re running Windows XP, you can install PDF Support from our Downloads page. If you’re running Windows Vista or Windows 7, you will need to install a piece of software called a PDF Printer, and you will need to use “File->Print” instead of “File->Save As…”. We recommend PDF Redirect, which can be obtained from www.exp-systems.com.
Something happened to my transcript and it won’t open/is blank! What can I do?
